1. What We Collect

We do not collect or store your card or bank details — payments are processed directly by Paystack, our payment processor.

2. How We Use Your Data

To operate the voting contest, wallet, and ticketing features
To communicate with you about your account, votes, tickets, and rewards
To detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the platform
To improve the App based on aggregate usage patterns

3. Simulated Platform Activity

To keep the experience engaging, especially in early months with a smaller community, Birthday Mates may display simulated voting activity alongside real votes. This simulated data is generated internally, is never attributed to a real person's identity, and never affects who wins a monthly contest — winners are determined by real human votes only.

4. Third-Party Sharing

Paystack processes your wallet top-up payments. Refer to Paystack's own privacy policy for how they handle your payment information.
Linksvert (and any future sponsors) may receive a unique, non-reversible token to verify your contest eligibility when you choose to register on their platform. We do not share your password, full account details, or any data beyond what's needed to confirm eligibility.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable time, except where we're required to retain records for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.

6. Your Rights

You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
You may request correction of inaccurate data.
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including password hashing and secure session handling. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted to or from the App.

8. Children's Privacy

Birthday Mates is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected with an updated revision note on this page.
